Accessibility.

The Council is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so, ensure that it adheres to many of the available standards and guidelines.

The Government requires that all public sector websites should meet the W3Cs Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0, to Level AA. These guidelines are based on good design practice and exist to ensure that no individual is excluded due to disability or choice of device.

The site displays content in all standard current browsers and by adopting these standards we ensure that it will remain compliant in any future browsers.

Every page on our website is accessible. We aim to achieve level AA and to comply with as many of the features of AAA as are possible, but recognise that this is not always achievable for the entire website. At every stage each individual web page is checked for accessibility using a range of automated and manual checks.

Whilst The Council strive to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website.

We are always seeking to improve our site above and beyond the guidelines that should enable us to bring all areas of the site up to the same level of overall accessibility. In the meantime should you experience any difficulty in accessing our website, or would simply like to give us feedback on the accessibility and usability of our website, please don’t hesitate to email admin@letsfoster.co.uk
